The 13AAA Expos won the Wild West Championship by Woodside Sports in Wisconsin Dells and Mauston, Wisconsin, over July 8-11. On Thursday the Expos went 1-1 in pool play, beating the Lake County Stars 17-1 and then dropping a close game to the Tri-County Cyclones 4-2. Friday saw two more wins as they beat P2P Millers Anderson 10-0 and ISA Futures-Nelson 6-2. A 3-1 pool play record set the Expos up as the 4th seed, facing 5 seed MN Icemen on Saturday where the Expos pulled away for a 9-5 win. In Sunday's semifinal game against GRB Rays MKE Green, Nick Terhaar homered in the first inning and also pitched all seven innings, allowing four hits while striking out twelve. Isaiah Ahlberg also homered for the Expos in the second inning as they jumped ahead of the Rays early and held the lead for a 6-2 win. The Expos then found themselves in a rematch of Thursday's matchup against the Tri-County Cyclones for the championship game. Seven Expos runs in the 5th inning put the Cyclones away for good as the Expos combined for nine hits in a 12-2 win. Nolan Harju threw all five innings for the Expos, allowing only three hits and striking out seven.
