The Expos 14U Majors won the Wild West Championship by Woodside Sports in Mauston, Wisconsin over July 8-11. The Expos went 3-0 in pool play with wins over the Wisconsin Wolves, Wheaton Warriors and Quad City Hitmen, taking the number one seed in the upper bracket. Saturday the Expos met the Wolves again in the semifinal game, winning in dramatic fashion as a River Freeman walk-off hit in the bottom of the ninth inning made the final score 3-2. Bjorn Lind and Owen Marsolek combined to strike out 16 Wolves. In Sunday's championship game against the Minnesota Blizzard, Tanner Ross drove in three runs with a double in the bottom of the third to make the score 6-0 Expos. Max Berrisford pitched all seven innings, allowing one run on three hits, striking out six and walking none as the Expos cruised to a 7-1 victory.
